Chrysalis
A Chrome extension that syncs your live account balances from Monarch Money into ProjectionLab with one click — no scripts, no terminal, no copy-pasting numbers by hand.
Chrysalis is a Chrome extension that pulls your live account balances from Monarch Money and pushes them into ProjectionLab with a single click — no scripts, no terminal, and no copy-pasting numbers by hand. It’s free, and always will be.
Why it exists
ProjectionLab is a powerful financial-planning tool, but its projections are only as accurate as the starting balances you give it. Monarch Money already knows what every account is worth. Chrysalis is the bridge between the two, so your plan stays grounded in your real numbers without manual data entry.
How it works
Chrysalis reuses the Monarch session you’re already logged into — reading the page’s CSRF token to call Monarch’s API — and writes balances to ProjectionLab through its official Plugin API. It never sees your username or password, requires no extra browser permissions, and keeps everything (your API key and account mappings) in Chrome’s own extension storage. No data goes anywhere except Monarch’s and ProjectionLab’s own APIs.
Flexible account mapping
- One-to-one — the common case: one Monarch account to one ProjectionLab account.
- Many-to-one — roll several Monarch accounts (say, two checking accounts) up into a single ProjectionLab entry; Chrysalis sums them before syncing.
- Assets with loans — Monarch stores an asset and the loan against it as two separate accounts while ProjectionLab keeps both in one; Chrysalis merges them into the correct fields automatically.
Built for real use
Works across Chromium browsers (Chrome, Arc, Brave, Edge, Opera, Vivaldi, Dia), syncs in one click from the toolbar, and keeps a reviewable history of past syncs right in the popup.
